Blower door testing measures how airtight a building is. It's an increasingly common part of building performance work in Australia.

How it works

A blower door temporarily seals into an external doorway and pressurises or depressurises the building, measuring the air flow needed to maintain that pressure difference.

Why it matters

Air leakage undermines insulation performance, wastes energy, and can drive moisture problems. Testing quantifies leakage and helps identify where to improve.
