Insulation installers work in ceilings, walls, underfloor spaces and around building services. The work combines physical trade skills with an understanding of thermal performance, safety and building construction.
Most sites require a construction white card and appropriate PPE. Working in ceiling spaces introduces specific hazards including heat, live electrical services and hazardous materials such as asbestos.
Formal training helps you learn correct installation techniques, safety controls and quality expectations. EESI's Certified Insulation Installer pathway combines four separately assessed NRT units with EEC001-IND — Industry insulation retrofitting (non-accredited). It is currently available to employees of Energy Efficiency Group (EEG) only, for new and experienced workers, and is not an open public intake.
Recognised industry accreditation pathways, CPD points and refresher training help installers demonstrate current capability and stay aligned with industry expectations.
